Richard,
Whatever you buy new will plummet in value as soon as it hits the road, I know
You also have to take account of the 1100 (or 1098!?!) coming soon which will knock even more out of the value of a 999 and most of the 2nd hand ones will have negligible mileage and shiny fasteners as they dont get used all year round.
Like Ian suggested, have a chat with your friendly dealer and see what they say, but shop around and get some comparisons to hit them with first. Happy to talk it through if you want to one evening mate

Thanks for your ideas and opinions Paul.
I know what you mean and I too have been thinking about the new bikes with a bigger / upgraded engine (cc's) and new styling etc.

I have already been in contact with Rob (W.M.Snell), Wilf (Moto Rapido) & I think it was Alfie (Ducati Aylesbury). I am waiting for a call from Rob re: Info.

Good idea to have a chat in person, we'll have to arrange something.

Cheers,
Richard.

Richard - Whatever people's views on the 999 shape, a mono S in black is a great bike. (I'd have one if I could). The new bike coming out may well lead to a good deal being had on an S. It then means its worth less on the road, but does that matter if you're happy riding it?!

Thanks for your thoughts Dave.
I saw a subtle and tastefully blinged up black 999S Mono at W.M.Snells Open Day in their workshop, it was gorgeous and there was another one at the last Sussex meet....Nice, very nice.

Cheers,
Richard.

Dave

Aint that the truth, think I would wait till November.

If you have a winter hack already, why not sell your MTS just now privately and scoot about on the hack till winter and the good deals arrive

Thanks for your ideas Derek.
Yes, I have my Aprilia Pegaso 650 (Rotax 655) to hack around on, so it could be done, however finding a private buyer who will at least match the firm offer (£4,250) I have on my Numpty from a dealer maybe a bit more difficult, but if there is anyone out there who wants a Numpty let me know.
Also the 0% deals end in 4 weeks.

Decisions decisions........

Cheers,
Richard.
