Brilliant package, Wilf. I'm just having a ponder about what best to do. I think everybody is sick of the sight of posts from me at the moment :-) and auctioned up to the eyeballs. What do you say that I post it up here for a while and ask what people think? Thank you very much for being so generous.
Annette. BTW, your mood: broken fingers, rib and bike. We must compare broken bits one day. Bet I beat you!

Just phoned up to book a place only to discover fetish discrimination going on, unless you have a leather fetish you cannot do it, sadly a Rukka man myself, so I'll have to turn up and offer my moral support instead.

It would have been my first ever track day as well.

I'm presuming you mean the safety aspect of a full set of leathers?
I'd lend you mine, but unless you're really small they won't fit!
What a shame. I'll give you a bucket and a pack of raffle tickets. You can accost people for £1 coins.

I'm doing the Ride in Africa in November, so I'm a fully paid up member of Riders and the good work they do, I'd be only too pleased to help.
I'll either donate the fee I would have paid for the track day or spend it at the auction.
Leather looks good on some people , but it's not my cup of tea.

That will be fine, speak closer to the time to sort out times and where to meet.

Annette,

Will there be anybody counting each rider's laps or do we have to do it ourselves?
I thought I would set my trip meter to zero and just divide by 1.2 (or whatever the offical lap length is) at the end of the evening.
Is that OK?

Cheers,

Richard

p.s. Looking forward to a great evening!

Hi Richard
Well, on the basis that time trialing, racing etc is not allowed on track days, we have to be hypathetical.
So we guess that if you're out on the Indy 1.2 miles (I think), people will be doing around 1 minute laps (OK, I know that's pushing it, even if you're a DD racer!). So on the basis of a 20 minute session, you can let your sponsor know that you've done 20 laps. It'll be a lie, but it's all in the name of charity..... See you Wednesday.

I've done all my sponsorship by amounts per 'session', which raised a few cheeky questions and comments about what they'd expect for a session with me! Joking aside, it seemed simpler to do it that way because if there were any mechanical problems and I had to cut a session short, I'd still get the full amount for going out. I'm capping it at three sessions, though. If FE squeeze a 4th in, that will be free gratis and for nothing

I'm on the Monster as the Duchess has developed an oil leak so not track worthy, I'm afraid. I'm sure I'll have loads of fun out there though.
