Nice pic of Foxton Locks. Its close to where I live. I often stop there for a drink after a ride out. Some stunning roads from there up to Upingham and beyond.

I went on one of those things once. The thing is, you don't see another car or anything else that goes much above 4mph for days on end. When you get back into the real world everything looks as if you've got the DVD on fast forward...You see a car coming towards you and think "Jeez, look at this maniac" and it's a white haired old granny doing about 25mph.

When you've been used to just ambling along for a few weeks, you get back on your bike and it feels like a rocket ship at first.

Doesn't take long to re-calibrate though

Ahh...foxton Locks....we did 4 days at the end of the summer on the same stretch. Was our first time.........had a great PEACEFUL couple of days great fun.
