I would have thought that the condition of the parts before the "incident " was irrelevant as the bike was still in working order ,or else they would have replaced the parts before giving the bike back , Unless you where asked at the time of the service if they could replace the parts & you said No !
Then the way i see it its their problem ,but it no use coming over nasty ,I would offer to pay for the plates & maybe a bit of the hub !

But thats just what i think !!!!
