Motorway Maniac

Was travelling down the M11 yesterday on my way to drop a friend off at Redbridge Station when I came up behind a Toyota Hilux pickup and a Rover 200 series in the middle lane. The Rover went to move in to the inside lane and go past (not sure why) when the pickup decided to block him off and swerved across in to the inside lane almost causing a collision.

Now, I don't know if this was the first incident between them or if it had been going on before I caught up with them, but it continued. As the rover now moved out from the inside lane back to the middle, the pickup waited until he'd come alongside and then swerved out again, forcing the Rover to move out. This happened a couple more times, each time as the Rover came slightly alongside the pickup would swerve sharply across to block his path.

I'd had enough of this by now and decided to do something about it. As they were now both in the inside lane I decided to pull up beside the pickup. I checked the outside lane and it was clear for quite a way back so if he decided to swerve at me I had plenty of space to move in to. As I pull up beside him the guy is still looking in his rear view mirror at the Rover behind and laughing to himself. Then he looks to his side and sees me throwing a ******* wobbly at him

He very soon changed his driving after my finger wagging, hand signaling and verbal tirade. My passenger thought I was crazy and she kept telling me not to get involved. But this guy was a prat and something had to be done. I think I did the right thing as this would have, no doubt, continued had I not intervened. Maye I even stopped an accident from happening

Jamie,

Me, myself and I normally phone the police and report the number plate of the offending vehicle along with make and model, finishing off with a bloody good description of how the anitcs are endangering others and the potential outcome if the call were to be ignored by the authorities.

I'm sure a police patrol pulling alongside a few miles down the road regardless of if they were still arsing about would work wonders.

Failing that....Nuke the b**t**ds

you do know that the Hilux is the vehicle most used by terrorists in the World? Forget tanks, all they want now is a Hilux.

Way to go citizen, who was in control of your vehicle during your "finger wagging, hand signaling and verbal tirade"??

Maybe you were lucky not to cause an accident.

Funny...similar thing happened to me today...on the M1 coming back from Chesterfield.

a white Rover full of "Chavs"...Oldest about 18 years if a day.
Playing "chicken", swerving backwards and forwards inbetween far left and far right lanes...Frightening the Little old ladies and making them swerve, squeezing inbetween lorries etc etc etc.

I'm afraid I just sat back and made sure that my kids and I were as far away from them as possible...

I'm sure that the well placed cameras would have spotted what was going on...Well I hope they did.

driving home myself the other day and two nova's pull out of a pub in front of me.the road was a 40 limit changing to a 60 but quite close to town(from the wind hover pub upto the boughton round about for any one local(northampton)) as the road goes up the hill there is a blind bend. these two nobs went round this bend side by side racing.
however carfull a rider you are however sharp your reflexes may be, if you met those two coming the other way the best you could hope for is to be in the same ward as them after the inevetable accident.
if my old estate could have kept up i think id have liked to explain to them the error of there ways
