c'mon Vman...you know you want to....

no surprise people are anti police with things like this - surely they should be made an example of and banned/lose job as I would be, except for a longer period

Dont you just hate double standards....

Antonye, quote "You really need *local* representation as there's nothing better than a solicitor who knows the beak and how to play them... "

Isnt it strange how we want to pull out all the stops to avoid prosecution in some cases, and throw the book in others when it suits.

I think this man has just played the system the same way any other member of the public would of, indeed has.

Only thing is,he faces "double jepeordy" from his place of work. Not something that happens in civvy street that often.

Then there is the public humiliation his job brings as apposed to the street cred often associated in other areas....

If one of us had just got off with 6 points and a fine we would all be posting congratulations.

When i got pulled doing the same speed - 104mph - i got 6 points and £250. I certainly didnt face losing my job too!!!

c'mon, if this was his first offence, the roads were clear, he was driving safely, then why should he be banned and lose his job - that just means that every poor bugger nicked from now on would have to have the same metered out too - and we wouldnt want that would we?????

Double standards.... consistency is what's required surely?
All anyone can really expect is equal treatment for everyone no matter who they are.
I don't see why this guy, no matter who is, should lose his job over it, although I would have to question how tenable his position in charge of traffic now is - I don't personally think I could preach about the dangers of speeding if I had just been caught at 104mph...

You are forgetting one vital thing. This mans job is to preach to us mortals the dangers of speed. If he then goes and does the same evil thing that we all do then he has no right to tell us what we should and shoud'nt do. SACK HIM.
