Just a shame the rider was wearing no gloves or protection and trainers

What's wrong with that?

He might just be pootling down to the shops, or still running it in, or taking it for a service, or any other number of reasons why he/she didn't need to be wearing full on kit. They may even have just had it all stolen!

As motorcyclists we all know that we're vulnerable and that we have to make our own choice in the kit that we wear.

Some people's ideals are different to others, but it doesn't necessarily mean that one person is right and another is wrong.

No flame, just pointing out that it's all down to personal choice. I've ridden my bike loads of times in jeans and trainers, with no back protector, etc. I know the risks and for just nipping down the shops it wasn't a problem.
