First day back at work after New Year and I asked our resident "don't have a life" driver if he had a nice New Year.

"No he replied, all the bloody neighbours woke me up with fireworks at midnight"

It could've been me that...I've had a heavy cold since about 2 weeks before Christmas. Getting a bit better by New Years Eve, but the effect of being run down for a few weeks meant I was well and truly bollixed and in bed with a Lemsip by 9:30

We celebrated twice out in Germany. The German midnight's fireworks went on for an hour. Then the English midnight's fireworks went on for a further three quarters of an hour. Doh!! marvellous but not sure the immediate German neighbours (not ours I hasten to add, we were round some friends) approved wholeheartedly

If it's not your bag then grump on
