Thumbs up

Bikes like this are never going to be to everyone's liking, personally I really like it and a good move on from the old MS. BMW are going to be loosing a few sales me thinks. Some will no doubt say Ducati shouldn't build bikes like this but increased sales will only be good for everything Ducati. Bet it's more comfy than an 1198 too!!!

That must mean the second one is mine then John

some great info on that site, and the comparison to the adventure and gs is excellent given that they were also on my shopping list if the new Duke turned out to not be suitable for me.

The more I read the more excited I get.
on;y real concerns now are how high the pillion seat is, and how costly those special tyres will be.

See you guys tomorrow. I've charged my camera so hope there is plenty of 'scenery' to point it at

"The gearbox and final drive ratios have also been optimised to enable the use of a higher-ratio 6th gear. This solution not only enables reduced fuel consumption, but also achieves increased riding comfort by reducing vibration. To give a practical example, if the 1198 reaches its top speed in 6th gear, the Multistrada 1200 is able to reach it in 5th gear and maintain it effortlessly in 6th."

Given just how highly the Dukes are normally geared, this sounds like 6th will be next to useless, and 5th might be too...
