That's a bit unfair Tim!

Personally I'm just being cautious in investing time and money in starting a new series when the one we've already got doesn't have full grids.

DD only happened because it filled a niche in a market that was begging for something. It happened at the right time with a big club with plenty of members who had money and spare time to commit.

Things have changed since then as people are more cautious with their money, have less surplus to spend on unneccessary outgoings (we have a hard time getting people to part with £25 to join the club, ffs!) and want value for their money.

I really don't think there is a gap in the market to run another Ducati only series based on old bikes when there's already DD, 848, Thunderbikes, Golden Era, etc.

However, if you manage to get 25 people signed up with deposits (and that's the important bit - people need to commit real money!) then you're on to a winner and don't need us anyway!!

MODERN CLASSIC SUPERBIKE & SUPERCUP CHAMPIONSHIP

NEW! 3 races each weekend including qualifying and warm up.
NEW! Modern Classic motorcycles from the age of Kawasaki ZX7RR’s, Yamaha YZF750, Ducati 916 etc. All will be 750 cc 4 cylinder, 975cc triples or twin cylinders up to 1000cc.
NEW! Minimum rider age is 30 years old
NEW! Bikes must be older than 10 years on 1st March 2012

Seems a good compromise; and allows DD mates to race with big bike mates

I may give my 853 a run out in that. Should be around 130bhp over the winter. That was all I was thinking, not another DD class, just a series suitable for mature gentlemen with older ducatis ...........

Sounds good. Same problem as golden era with the possible missiles from WSb..but at least it'll be alongside DD. I like that !

Not really, its like DD.. 2 races in one and the front A's are missiles to most B's. Superbike Class ( gert big bikes, money no object ) and Supercup as close to original as possible, few mods allowed.
