NEW! 3 races each weekend including qualifying and warm up.
NEW! Modern Classic motorcycles from the age of Kawasaki ZX7RR’s, Yamaha YZF750, Ducati 916 etc. All will be 750 cc 4 cylinder, 975cc triples or twin cylinders up to 1000cc.
NEW! Minimum rider age is 30 years old
NEW! Bikes must be older than 10 years on 1st March 2012

Seems a good compromise; and allows DD mates to race with big bike mates

That fits in with the endurance racing too, hmmmm when was a 998 first registered ?

Pre-March 2002 bikes... you might be able to sneak a 998R in there, otherwise it'll be a 996R instead.

It's looking like a 996 is the end point really then. I'll only need a stock one anyway cos the pieman will somehow have managed to detune his to 50bhp by the first race!

Indeed, but the 998R is bigger bore and shorter stroke, giving 1cc more at 999cc, and a massive 3hp more...

Chris

Yeah, and there's a 1999 996 frame with a 2004 testastretta engine in from a 999 for sale on Ebay at the minute. I wonder if that would circumvent the rules or whether they'd disallow it because the Testa engine wasn't from a 996R and neither was the chassis?

This bike however, would have been lovely!!...missed it!

Just back from meeting with New Era and Hotraxx about next years DD, more on that shortly.

We had an interesting talk about all of the above and the options with regard to 4 valve Ducati's in the Supercup version of the Hotraxx series - food for thought as they say!

How about a trick 748RS, ex Red Bull for the new Modern Classic Superbike series...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-748...item4aaefdd28a

..probably not if you want a race bike to fettle in your own shed.
