My local dealer has made enquiries but Ducati has said that there is none left unless another dealer has one so he advised me to wait until the 05 model comes out.
I would go elsewhere but my local dealer gives me an excellent deal as i have bought all my bikes from him.
He usually sells my bike for me and gives me what he got for it ( He never even asks what my bike is like as he knows that they are better than new condition and only stay in the showroom for a couple of days ), then discounts the new bike as if i had no part exchange, not many other dealers would do this i do not think.

NO. Unfortunately my dad died last year. ( no offence taken by the way )

I have bought about 12 bikes from the dealer in the past and usually when something new or interisting comes in he gives me a ring before the bike goes in the showroom.

If you really want a 749R , waiting 'till next year may be a mistake , I have heard from more than one source that Ducati are actually selling them at a loss just to get them into WSS and if you compare how much of a 999R you get for the price I think it's probably true

Next years production may be priced significantly higher , especially considering how fast this years have sold

Give Woods a call, the owner,Andy,is a really nice guy!! He won't be able to look after you like your dealer does, but he'll do his best for you! If Andy isn't available ask to speak to Dave,he's the Ducati salesman.

Mention the DSC,i know they give discounts on parts etc, they like to do a deal so push em!!

Hey Ian, good to see you back on the board!

Nice choice by the way. Keeping looking for an R - I'm sure you'll find one and at least you'll be doing your servicing through the local dealer so he's getting something out of it!

Cheers guys and thanks for the replys and info.
I think i had better start asking about if they are in as short a supply as it looks.

I have done my normal with the CBR600RR as i usually do by changing everything that can be changed when i should have left it standard and saved the cash, It does look good though.

Don't apologise - we all change stuff on our bikes to give it our own mark and make it "ours". They'd all be pretty bland if we didn't.

You could always use the dealer list on Ducati's website and work your way through them to see if they've got any Rs in stock? I know Ducati London Central in Chelsea had one a couple of months back...

(just select UK and click the red search button for a full list)

ItaliaMoto had a 749R in stock recently, might be worth a call.

Now got a sold sticker on it.
