So, moral dilemma, do we encourage our friends and family to get motorbikes and possibly risk their lives whilst their getting the experience to keep themselves alive ... or do we act completely hypocritical and dissuade them? Interested to know as have current dilemma with older daughter. Younger one already a biker. (well retired cos now has a car)

I agree in principle, bradders. And No 2 daughter went straight onto brand new Aprilia 125, of which she tired in about 18months, so made me buy her CBR 400. Expensive, kids, aren't they? But No 1 daughter's driving. She talks constantly on phone, waves BOTH hands in the air for emphasis and seems to think driving close to cars in the fast lane in an MX5 will INTIMIDATE other motorists to move out of her way. I just don't think she'd be safe on a bike. So now I'm backpeddaling like made.

CAUTION-DANGER!!!!
If female and wearing chrome helmet, do not, we repeat DO NOT look into any mirrors. You will probably be caught in a time loop as you try to make out which is the correct reflection. (and probably look like a cheap Top of the Pops video effect).
