The F1 cars are unebelievably quick, I cannot remember the exact figures but I once worked out how much quicker even the slowest car on the F1 grid was compared to Rossi on a Motogp bike around I think it was the Spanish grand prix circuit at Catalunya. I think it worked out Rossi would be lapped every 6 or 7 laps or so!

The most impressive thing to witness with F1 cars is their incredible late braking and the speed they carry through medium and fast speed corners. If you were to stand at the end of a long straight and watch both a Motogp bike and a F1 car arrive at the same speed (200mph or so) the difference in braking points is unreal. The F1 car will still be screaming away at 19,000 rpm or more long after the point where the bike is hard on the brakes. When the F1 car eventually brakes it appears to just stop dead. I think they go from 200mph down to 70mph in 1.something seconds I cannot remember the exact figures as I have lost a lot of interest in the mostly dull F1 races these days.
