Its one of the big ones under the riders seat, there are two identical ones next to each other iirc.

I would still permanently bypass the side stand switch Ant mentioned.

Nope no alarm.

Thanks for all the responses, will be looking later this week. Prob will bypass the sidestand switch too anyway.

Is there any chance you can hook it up to a diagnostics system and check the switches?

On a recent Hypermotard rebuild we couldn't get it to start at all - the starter button was dead. We checked through everything and couldn't figure it out so in the end we hooked it up to the JPDiag (free download) diagnostics and saw that the kill switch was engaged regardless of the position! Some rapid flicking of the kill switch saw it start to change and we then got it running.
