I have some good 50mm dia risers but I feel the 748's forks will be wider...

Tks Frank, I've a feeling they're 53mm at the top but I could be wrong, will measure them 2mrw

No worries - Check out Woodcraft clipons - they do various risers, I have the max 3" on my Aprilia and really rate them.
