996 Petrol Leak

Petrol tank / sender appears to have developed a leak.

Could smell the stuff between the seat and the tank. When I took the tank off could just see a couple of drops of the stuff dripping onto 'out' house - but couldn't see exactly where...took the tank off as didn't want it leaking in the garage (part of the house) and now of course it ain't leaking so I can't see exactly what is causing the prob.

Any idea on likely culprits?

What sort of seals are generally replaced? (2000 Bip).

As far as draining the tank - there appears to be a plug of some description as part of the tank which has an allen bolt, is this what is used to drain it?

Any help appreciated...

Paul
