OH NO NOT AGAIN! (ride like a tw*t and stay alive)

I cant believe it I must be a magnet for every blind, stupid and incompetent driver in south east london! What are the odds of being smashed of a bike whilst staionary twice in 2 years?
Yesterday evening riding home I filtered slowly down Anerly hill and my progress was stopped by a traffic island, Iwaited for the car to move forward and rolled forward untill parralel with a car which had stopped to leave a junction clear, I looked down into the drivers window (to make sure he was aware I was there) looked up and a *&%$£%*&* woman had pulled out of the road on our left and looking away from me down the hill she proceeded to accelerate straight into the front of annettes 996. very scarey to see the back of someones head whilst they drive into you, the bike shot backwards and then stopped and I was flung off backwards my head smashed into the floor and knocked me absouloutely sensless. I could see people pushing the bike into the kerb hear people calling for ambulance police etc but was so disorientated I could not stand up. when the lady! cocerned eventually came over the cheeky cow said @you were going to fast I didnt stand a chance' if 0 mph is going too fast perhaps she should be in a bath chair at 30 odd.

Poor annettes beautifull sps now looks a little secondhand with a buckled front wheel, disc, poss fork damage and the perfect original bodywork which I had just refitted so I could repaint the track bodywork is a little secondhand and I feel like sh*t concoused back and kneck ache right arm and shoulder stiff and painfull, but hey even 10 years ago I woudnt have been wearing a top grade helmet and this could have been my obitury. shark helmets are bloody excellent thats twice they have saved me!

dave

Fed up and hoping to be fit to fly to imola on friday!

I have just noticed the spelling is still rubbish I have been correcting the mistakes for 20 miniutes and I still keep missing mistakes.
ps was it the geranium or the whale that said oh no not again in hitch hikers guide to the galaxy!

pps The police who attended were very good, very insistant I went to hospital and totaly ignored the no tax displayed, pipes, number plate etc, the wpc was very interested to find out it was annettes bike, she had wanted one but was put off because everyone said it would be too big and heavy so maybe another convert on the way

Damn, I hope your head is OK. The polics were right to insist on hospital checks. You just never know what soft tissue damage was done! I hope Annette is ok too, haven't met either of you but it just sends shivers down my spine! I remember the pain I was in when I had a car do a u-turn in front of me.

The lady driver could have thought you were going quickly because she didn't see you at first (I know she didn't look ...) but it's no excuse. She could have done worse. I hope she gets some training as part ofher punishment.

Dave - unlucky mate. Give me a call. This is EXACTLY what happenned to me last year. The guy was done for driving without due care and attention and I got full money for the repairs, kit and a small amount for personal injury. Give me a ring and I'll explain the rest and what to do (in case you have forgotten from the last time or your head is still spinning).

Take care

If a bang on the head meant I only speant 20 mins checking my spelling it would be an improvement.

Sorry about the smash, but glad it isn't too bad.

Good to see the coppers getting some praise for a change and helping out, and lets hope it all gets sorted quickly.

Dave - bad luck mate. Glad the injuries aren't worse, and heal quick. I had my 400/4 written off years ago in a similar situation, except the guy was actually looking forwards as he did it.... I got full compensation, and he got the driving without due care, so hope yours goes along the same lines.

Also, I think it was a bowl of petunias!!

A chap I know reversed his van into a guy on a Ninja and argued the toss with me that it was the biker's fault cos he shouldn't have stopped in the middle where he couldn't see him. Maybe so, but not really mitigating circumstances in my book. Best of it was Mr white van man has never even sat his driving test never mind passed it, and he's nearly 60. It was moron's like this that eventually made me give up road riding.
