Home Broadband suppliers - recommendations?

I'm looking to swap my BT Business Broadband line at home, but what else is out there?

I'm probably looking at a non-business service, although as I will use it for business, I'm looking to have as little restriction on hours/day and download limits as poss (due to work use).

As I'm used to having a 24hr/day service and no download limits, I'm not sure what's enough / too little?

The price for this unlimited service seems very high, (so I'm unlikely to use this) so what are you guys using and is it enough? What changes would you make?

Any experience of good/ bad suppliers would also be appreciated.

Thanks
Tim

Tim,

I've been with eclipse since march 04, since then I've put it in my house, my customer site office and our main offices.

Never had any problems, and it's always worked. No limits at all.

Have a look at http://www.eclipsebroadband.com for them, and http://www.adslguide.org for others.

Cheers!

Scott

Tim,

I've been with Demon for the last 10 years - first dial-up and then Broadband and haven't had a problem with them in all that time.

It's funny how you see these suppliers come and go, and people moan about the service they get, but the oldest ones are usually still there because they get it right.

There's no limits on download at all, plus with a static IP you can run your own web server from a home machine if that tickles your fancy.

It's 24.99 per month - certainly not the cheapest but you do get full email, webspace, newsgroups, decent support and the like. I think it's also free self-install at the moment as well.

on AOL, find them to be great, never been kicked out I don't think and no limits, to my knowledge, £24.99 a month.

Biscit.net. Had them at home for about 6 months, customer service is quite frankly unbelievable. If they can't take your call they ring you back - HONEST. No download limits and various packages. Can't rate them highly enough.

Am so impressed I'm moving my business to them when the current contract expires.

You can also look here for comparisons - www.adslguide.org.uk
