Stubborn stains . . . . .

Decided that as the forks were out the bike, I'd give them a really good clean. Problem is, they seem to be covered in what I can only describe as "water" marks. Also, where the triples and the clip-ons have been clamped has left a perfect dirty outline of them on the fork legs.

I've tried everything in my (extensive) arsenal to remove the marks, with no success. Don't want to use anything abrasive for obvious reasons!

Products used so far:

Muck-off, Gunk, parafin, thinners, acetone, isopropanol, brake cleaner, tar and bug remover, WD40, washing up liquid, shampoo(?) etc etc etc.

Is there any miracle cleaner out there that I've missed? I'm open to suggestions . . . . .

Thanks, Neil
